Collected in March of 2020! Approximately 200 million years ago in the Early Jurassic Period, what is now The Connecticut River Valley was a Rift Valley that formed when Pangea started to drift apart. Often times in muddy floodplains, footprints would be left behind by dinosaurians (or other Animalia), and plants would die and lay here, which then became encased in sediments after the area reflooded, preserving footprint and plant impressions forever... and even occasionally fish! It is very rare for plant matter to be this well preserved in the Connecticut River Valley, making this specimen a particularly nice addition to any collection.
