Fossil Dinosaur Footprints with very RARE Sauropodmorph
Species: Unknown Theropods (three-toed raptors) and Sauropodmorph (The evolution transitional state between Theropods and the long-necked Sauropods)
Age: 203-210 Million Years Old (Triassic)
Location: Durham, CT
This extraordinary specimen was Self-collected on private property. These are a handful footprint impressions of prehistoric Theropod dinosaurs from the Connecticut River Valley, and one VERY rare track from a Sauropodmorph! The Sauropodmorph Track is known as an Otozoum and These tracks were made by large, bipedal, Prosauropod/Sauropodmorph dinosaur similar to the Plateosaurus. It is considered to be an early prosuaropod and the track is quite rare . The dinosaur probably reached a length of 20-30 feet when full-grown, The this one in particular is a juvenile.
This was an active and muddy area. The impressions are very distinct, and have been polished lightly to increase visibility. Polish can wash off with a little elbow grease, and the footprints will be visible, especially under dim lighting. Appropriately priced.
One side has the natural fossil casts that filled in an earlier layer of footprints, while the other side has more “recent” impressions of footprints.
