Raised Dinosaur Tracks W/ Fossil Big Burrows, And Skin Impressions
Age: 190 Million Years Old (Jurassic)
Species: Multiple species of Theropod Dinosaur
Location: Connecticut River Valley, MA, USA
These lovely trackways were made by relatively unknown species of Theropods (raptors). The high activity suggests there was a either a struggle, or a little territorial battle (possibly over scavenged prey). Among the identified would be the large Anchisauripus, and small grallators and Anomoepus. These tracks are raised impressions, as they were made from sediment that covered the initial impressions and hardened. They are slightly river-washed but the nice polish reveals some fossil Skin Impressions on the large track which is quite rare!
Above the tracks are fossilized insect burrows from the Jurassic.
