Ring from Ancient Rome, Victory Laurel, 100-300 AD
Ships from Massachusetts!
This listing is for one Ancient Roman Bronze ring. 100-300 AD. It was found near the Roman City of Bath, in England. Approximately a size 9, but it broke a little sometime over the last 1800 years.
The band is whole and round. The piece has a round crown with ancient carving still visible.
A fascinating patina has taken hold of this ring.
My love for these items lies in holding them, viewing them and trying to feel the history. When I look at an item like this ring, I wonder who used it, when and for what purpose.Did the daughter of a Roman governor wear it to public functions? Did another artisan proudly wear it to advertise the work of a friend? Was it part of the evening attire of a Roman politician? These impressions make artifacts like this one stand out for me. Hopefully, you will also be able to enjoy that pleasure.
